I am an emerging Seattle area writer with a handful of modest poetry and flash fiction publications under my belt. Last year, I wrote the zero draft for a science fiction novel, and throughout this summer's Clarion West Write-a-thon, I'll be transforming that draft into something suitable for alpha readers.

summary:

The sun is a white dwarf, and in a bid to finally achieve interstellar travel, the system's Dyson sphere is cutting its colonies' energy allotments. An emissary from an aristocratic cloneline is sent on the colonies' behalf, but when espionage escalates to murder, he’s entangled in another cloneline’s far grander conspiracy.

06/16/24 : The Write-a-thon begins!

06/21/24 : I've been overshooting my daily goal most of the week, so I hit my weekly goal early! That means I've acquired both the Overachiever and Running Robot Badges. Currently short of my daily goal, so I'm eyeing another sprint this evening.

06/28/24 : Running a bit behind this week, so I've picked up the Swamp Monster of Distraction badge. Hopeful I can make up the difference this weekend.

07/07/24 : Sad days! I woke up to a nasty fever yesterday and smacked the pause button at 2,369 / 5,040 minutes. Fortunately, it's not COVID, and with 20 days left to the Write-a-thon, some quick math tells me I can make up the difference by committing to an extra thirty minutes a day. Self-care comes first, so this weekend has been nothing but pillow nests and hydration.

07/08/24 : Updated targets!

150 minutes a day. 891 minutes a week. Still 5,040 minutes for the whole Write-a-thon.
