Description

Bestselling author Ann Aguirre will guide attendees through the essential elements of staying true to their voices when writing and refining their work.  With tips, discussion on style and approach, and an in-person writing exercise designed to help reveal how the writer's perspective shapes the material, you'll explore how to identify, preserve, and enhance what makes your voice unique!  In this supportive, author-centered environment, writers will be encouraged to share their work aloud and can opt to receive feedback from Ann.

In this workshop, you’ll learn how to:

  • recognize what makes a writer's voice unique;
  • find and stay true to your voice;
  • edit finished work with some pro tips.

No preparation is necessary, though you may want to bring the first page of your work-in-progress if you have one! Ann will offer additional feedback on its impact and voice as time allows.

This class is for writers at every level.

About the Instructor:

New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Ann Aguirre has been a clown, a clerk, a savior of stray kittens, and a voice actress, not necessarily in that order. She loves video games, Korean dramas, music, dogs and cats, and staring at the sea. Though she writes all kinds of genre fiction, she has a major soft spot for a happily ever after.  visit https://www.annaguirre.com/
