OK I'm late getting my Write-a-thon on this year but I had a busy June, first presenting an award at the Nebulas (fit shown in photo), then schlepping out to the east coast for a writing retreat (Bruisers6eva), and finally helping out with the Willamette Writers "Quill & Key" silent auction event (I am a board member).

Now then! I have finished a hopefully-very-close-to-final revision on the third Kangaroo novel, working title TRUE BLUE KANGAROO, and I'll be deciding this month (July, 2024) whether I'm going to crunch for a fall 2024 release or postpone publication to summer 2025. Just for fun, let's say that if I rack up more than $2,024.07 in donations here, I will commit to an October 2024 release date for K3. MAKE ME A LIAR FISH.

Meanwhile, I'm working on finally doing a full clean-up pass of the "Six Million Dollar Pocky" short story that I've been co-writing with a friend for...(checks google doc)...JFC, almost two and a half years now?! We agreed early on that this was purely for our own amusement, but it's since turned into something that I think we could actually sell somewhere. Anyway, the ball's in my court right now.

Other than that, my biggest writing challenge these days is actually doing my weekly journaling for therapy. Like, I know it's good for my mental health, because having to articulate my thoughts and feelings into actual words and sentences does help me process things, but it's EFFORT to get that stuff out of my head and recorded in a coherent fashion. I've been dreaming more lately, and also trying to write down what I can remember of those dreams when I wake up, but again, EFFORT. I am a fundamentally lazy person and our cats are inveterate enablers.

If you've read this far, thank you, and here's a bonus: donate at least $20 and include your mailing address in your donor information, and I'll send you a postcard this summer! That is all.
